My life in a nut shell...

School: Going well? Yeah I think so. School's really hard this year, but I'm learning a lot! I was shocked how hard it would be to go from 8th grade to 9th grade... BIG change! My grades are staying up (praise the Lord!) and my spiritually walk is growing. Schools going well!

Basketball: I'm playing for the OKC Knights this year (http://www.okcknights.com/) and it's going really well! I'm learning a lot about basketball and learning how to be a good servant. My first game is this Monday (11-2-09) playing a decent team (so I hear). It will be a lot of fun! I'm not starting this game, but I'm really happy for Luke that he is!!! Basketball is going well and I'm having a blast!

Mission Day: Mission day (if you don't already know) is a community outreach that we're doing at our church (Western Hills Church). Character Focus Ministries, Novo Ministries, and Character First, are all teaming up with Western Hills Church. Every Monday we go into two schools, Lee Elementary and Santa Fe South. In the morning we teach Character (with Character First) during school hours. In the afternoons we go into these same schools to do after school Bible Clubs. Since the kids volunteer to come, we can share Christ with each one of them. It's going really well and many have already come to know Christ as their personal savior! Praise the Lord!

After all that, starting a 6:00pm to 8:30pm we have YOUGROW (Yielding Ourselves Unashamed as God's Ready Open Workers) which is a bible study that Brandon Werner put together (men and women ages 14 and up). We're doing the "The Truth Project" that was put out by Focus On the Family and that's going great! Mission day is a big part of my life now and I am learning so much through it. I'm praying that God will use me to further His Kingdom more and more each time I go into the schools.

YOUGROW: God has been speaking to me during YOUGROW each week in different ways, but He spoke to me specifically this week. To make a long story short, I had unconfessed immorality that God showed me I needed to confess. I had the opportunity to confess my sins to my dad and God. I coveted to God that I would follow Him and serve Him in my actions, thoughts, devotions, etc. God has helped me see that I can't be moral on my own, but need Him to guide me and help me. God has been working in my life in many awesome, amazing ways!

Well, that that's all folks!

Many blessings!

What is a Christian

"I don’t know what you think a Christian is? I know so many people that think a Christian is going to church a lot. You may have heard this before but going to church a lot doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to McDonald’s and them making you a hamburger. And saying a prayer doesn’t make you a Christian, people in every religion pray. Even praying to Jesus doesn’t make you a Christian; He says many shall come in that day and say Lord, Lord! He says depart from me, I never knew you. Having the gifts of the Sprit or looking like you’ve got them doesn’t make you a Christian. Jesus says many shall come in that day and say Lord! Did we not cast our demons, and heal the sick, and raise the dead and all kinds of stuff? And He’ll say the same thing, depart from me I never knew you. You know what a Christian is? Someone who’s banana’s for Jesus! Someone who loves the Lord thy God with all his heart, all his soul, all his mind, and all his strength. Don’t forget the second part… He loves everybody else, as much as He loves Himself.
And Paul goes even further; He prefers that others get served before him.
An unquenchable, undeniable love that God puts in our heart. And that love does not just stay within the boarder of the United States, or within the boarder of our own denomination, or in the boarders of our own church; but it’s so large, and it’s so explosive, it explodes everything that gets in its way. With gentleness and power from the Holy Ghost."
